Hi, I’m Tabi!
Shiriuchi in southern Hokkaido combines agricultural and seafood specialties with railway stories around the Seikan Tunnel. Begin with the Yunosato roadside station and observation tower on its grounds; check current transport and return connections first.
This guide covers places within Shiriuchi, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Roadside Station Shiriuchi
道の駅 しりうち
A rest facility for local specialties and visitor information. The 2007 photo shows the roadside station on the right and former JR Shiriuchi Station on the left. The former station is not a current passenger boarding point.
Getting there Locate the roadside station at Yunosato 48-13 and check current road or bus access and return travel. Do not plan passenger boarding at the former station in the photograph.
An observation facility on the roadside-station grounds. The 2018 photo shows tracks at Yunosato-Shiriuchi signal station viewed from the tower, rather than the tower exterior. Check current operations and passage guidance; use designated viewing areas. Train sightings are not guaranteed.
Getting there Check the tower entrance and current viewing areas on the same roadside-station grounds, and stay out of railway property.
Town guidance introduces oysters and garlic chives as specialties. Check actual origin, ingredients, preparation, allergens and availability; no particular shop, local origin of every ingredient, current menu or price is guaranteed.
