Lake Poroto
ポロト湖
Enjoy woodland and water views at a lake associated with Shiraoi. Use open land paths; canoeing and ice fishing depend on the season and operator arrangements.

This nationally designated historic site preserves traces of the outpost established in Shiraoi in 1856. Look for earthworks and remains rather than an intact castle. Follow on-site signs and access boundaries.
