Hi, I’m Tabi!

Assabu in southwestern Hokkaido offers local produce and forests. Begin at the roadside station for information and return transport, then choose currently open forest areas.

This guide covers places within Assabu, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop

Michi-no-Eki Assabu

道の駅あっさぶ

A roadside rest and local-produce stop on Route 227. The June 2018 photo does not depict the current ASSAN facility opened in 2022. Check each facility’s operating guidance.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Reku-no-Mori observation forest

レクの森・土橋自然観察教育林

A town-owned forest for observing plants and wildlife. Check trail, wildlife, weather and current facility guidance; consult the latest notice rather than treating old closure notices as current operations.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Local guidance features May Queen potatoes. Look for local potatoes and snacks made with them, checking availability, ingredients and preparation. Not every potato dish uses Assabu-grown produce.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Choose the roadside station as a rest stop. Plan a forest visit separately after checking trails and current transport and return connections.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
