Kaita Kannonmen Camphor Tree
海田観音免のクスノキ
A large camphor tree protected as a Hiroshima natural monument, photographed in 2022. Respect roots and protected areas; do not climb the tree or break branches.
Getting there Check the walking approach from JR Kaitaichi Station to the tree in Une 2-chome and respect protection around its roots.
A residence reflecting life and architecture in Kaita’s former Saigoku-road post town. Check current open days and restrictions for its garden and buildings; distinguish it from similarly named houses elsewhere.
Getting there Locate the residence entrance in Nakamise on its official map and check open days before visiting.
Kaita satsuma is a local dish of ground grilled fish with miso and sesame, served with rice. It is not a sweet-potato dish. Check actual fish, ingredients and allergens; no constant availability or particular shop is guaranteed.
