Hi, I’m Tabi!

Numata’s castle park, gorge and mountain temple occupy separate areas. Begin with the park, planning transport and weather separately for the falls or temple.

This guide covers places within Numata, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

Autumn trees and paths at Numata Park01

A first-visit stop

Numata Park

沼田公園

A park on former castle grounds with trees and historical remains. Choose a path for seasonal scenery; this is not a visit to an existing castle keep.

Water flowing through the rocky fissure at Fukiware Falls02

A first-visit stop

Fukiware Falls

吹割の滝

Water falls through a fissure in broad rock. Keep away from water edges and follow designated paths and closures; people’s positions in the historical photograph are not safety guidance.

Getting there
Check buses or other transport to the falls entrance in Oigai

03

A first-visit stop

Kashozan Mirokuji Temple

迦葉山龍華院弥勒寺

A mountain temple known for large tengu masks. Respect worship spaces and plan access carefully, including the substantial walk from the bus stop.

Getting there
Check temple access in Kamihotchimachi

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Numata promotes locally grown apples. Varieties and harvest seasons affect availability; check orchard opening and booking arrangements before choosing a picking visit.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Begin at Numata Park’s entrance and choose a walk among castle remains and trees. Plan the falls and mountain temple as separate outings.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check current entry rules, opening information and return transport.
  • Choose an outing suited to steps, slopes and weather.
  • Respect worship spaces and photography rules; check food ingredients at the shop.
