Hi, I’m Tabi!

Gamagori offers the sea, a small island and an aquarium on Aichi’s Mikawa Bay. Island scenery and aquarium displays provide different experiences: choose one to suit the weather.

This guide covers places within Gamagori, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Takeshima Aquarium

竹島水族館

An aquarium introducing Mikawa Bay fish and deep-sea life. Its 2018 exterior photo predates the 2024 reopening. Check current displays, closures and admission; follow staff directions for touching animals and photography.

Getting there
Locate the aquarium entrance from Gamagori Station and the Takeshima area; island walking and aquarium admission are separate.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

The official tourism guide introduces fried mehikari among local deep-sea fish dishes. Check fish type, coating, seasonings and availability with vendors. No particular shop, current menu or price is guaranteed.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
