Hi, I’m Tabi!

Mito is now a district of Toyokawa. This page retains the app’s former Mito-town GID and covers that district rather than all Toyokawa. Begin with the hillside temple or hill outlook.

This guide covers places within Mito, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Daionji Temple

大恩寺

A temple at Mount Mito’s foot associated with the Matsudaira and Tokugawa families. The 2012 photograph shows a temple building, rather than the designated historic gate. Respect worship and restricted areas and check interior access.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Mitoyama Park

御津山園地

A small hill park with an outlook over Mikawa Bay. Check slopes, weather and observation-point access; cherry blossoms depend on season and flowering. Plan park walking and temple viewing around their separate permitted areas.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Toyokawa’s tourism guide introduces inari sushi, rice in fried tofu pouches. It represents the food culture of the city containing Mito, without claiming an origin unique to Mito. Check availability, ingredients and allergens locally.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
